Participate in plus15’s “One of Them is My Sib” video contest! Winners will receive gift certificates to Amazon.com!
Here are the details:
What: a video contest celebrating our sibs with Down syndrome! Create an original video and post it to your YouTube page anytime between November 14 and December 9, then email the link toplus15campaign@gmail.com. After reviewing it, we will post your video to the plus15 YouTube Channel.
There will be two award categories:
- People’s Choice Awards: for the video with the most “likes”
- Judge’s Choice Awards: a panel of judges from the Down syndrome community will vote on their favorite video!
- Awards: All winning videos will be featured on the plus15 website. All winners will also receive a gift certificate to Amazon.com (provided by an anonymous donor).
- Judge’s Choice Award: $250 gift certificate to Amazon
- People’s Choice Awards: $150 gift certificate to Amazon
- Judge’s Choice Runner-up Award: $100 gift certificate to Amazon
- People’s Choice Runner-up Award: $50 gift certificate to Amazon
When: Video submissions are due to plus15campaign@gmail.comon Monday, December 9 at 5:00 p.m. PT. Public voting ends on December 16, and winners will be announced on Monday, December 19. We encourage you to submit videos as early as possible to maximize your chances of receiving the most “likes!” While we encourage everybody to submit new videos, if you want to submit one you’ve already made, we’ll take note of how many likes you receive between the date you submit the video and when submissions end.
The Nitty Gritty:
Maximum video length 3 minutes long. Your video should respond to one of the following:
- What is your sib capable of? Show them in action!
- What are your hopes and dreams for your sib? What would a 15 percent improvement in cognitive ability mean to them?
- What are your sibs hopes and dreams?
- How has having a sib with Down syndrome shaped your life?
- What do you want the world to know about your sib?
Videos will be judged on creativity and emotional impact—be funny, be sad, be yourself!
Videos using profanity and language intended to insult or derogate people with Down syndrome will not be accepted.
Important dates:
- November 14: submissions open! Email your YouTube video link to plus15campaign@gmail.com
- December 9: final day for submissions! Cut-off is 5:00 p.m. PT
- December 12-16: voting for best video by the community
- December 19: winners announced on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/plus15
